Finish up the wiring tomorrow night, then take it for a night whip! Dropped the ORI pressures 20 psi when I did valve springs, it handles alot smoother!

New to me injectors should be here Wednesday, so really just install those and pin the hood and make a cowel to do before the trip this weekend.

Battery switch is installed, and wireless winch is all wired up along with the light bar. Just gotta pin the hood and make a dash cowel.

Buddy offered to make me shifter knobs awhile ago, so I took him up on his offer.

I already told my buddies I'll give whoever gets pics/video of her screaming a cold beer at the bar afterwards. And she told me she is gonna kill me in my sleep if I do...

Been nice knowing you guys...

UPDATE
Injector swap did the trick, running smooth and strong. Long and short term fuel trims are smack dab on, and no more check engine light. This things getting whooped this weekend!!!

Thing did wicked this weekend, couldn't be happier! All the good videos of the buggy are on my buddies gopro but I'll get them eventually.

Love the new shifter knobs

Took my insurance agent/buddy for whip...

I'm not bald, thats my buddy!

Got some videos while I let my buddy take his son for a whip in it though.

Played in the sand hills a bit, played with the rebound adjustment on the struts after, what a difference!

Oh, and the girlfriend had a blast, except when we were waiting for people to clear obstacles...

cool---hey question about your steering--why did you go with the single ended ram on your full hydraulic steering??? was it packaging or something about function or both or ???? chris

I'm a minimalist!

I like it behind the axle, but I can upgrade it to double ended pretty easy in front if I end up not liking it.

ok--just wondered if you did it because you've heard it works better in higher speed situations and how it reacts to obstacles vs the double....chris

Well what I do like is that I was able to get the steering to turn the outside tire more which I heard helps more when you have a spool in the rear, I did this by the design of the steering arms on the knuckles.

A double ended steers more equally each way since the cylinder has equal volume on each side.

Did some hot passes and had it tuned up lastnight by Wait4Me Performance, its a completely different animal now!

Going to do a cam and retune in the near future...

Plan is to dyno it tonight for shits n giggles and see what it puts down, I'll try to remember the camera.

Dyno'd it, its still too lean so I'll have to get that taken care of, plus I need more than 20 psi in the tires so that'll help too.

Made 195 HP/ 220 FT LBS but air fuel is 15 so more to be had. Stock 5.3L with little tires, lighter drivetrain and less parasitic loss makes 220 RWHP from what I've read.

Its a good base, but you better watch out - talking to those dyno folks will get you spending money fast.

Did a dyno pull today with the MAF unplugged so it would run as commanded.

Something is up with the MAF etc which is causing it to run lean in closed loop. The MAF is new refurbished so got some searching to do.

Don't put the MAF sensor by an elbow!

Moved it to right after the filter with a nice straight stetch of intake tube after. Seems to be running smoother, will get it retuned shortly.

Got the Hella Supertones installed, they are Hella loud!

Also got the new Taurus fan motor installed, now I gotta dig out the PCM low/high wires since my tuner installed the patch in the pcm so it'll control them...

Had a blast at the first TREC race at the Badlands! We finished 6th out of 12, just happy we finished and it pulled itself back on the trailer! Fought overheating issues due to the rad getting plugged with mud, swamped the intake on the second lap and it never ran as strong the rest of the race, but before that damn it was running great! Throwing a cam/springs and retune in the near future.

Here are some prep pics:

5 total, 2 up front for steering and diff

Race pics compliments to Rockcrawler.com:

All cleaned up yesterday, notice any carnage?

TREC races are tough on buggies with front mounted radiators when it's muddy out! It seemed like you guys had a solid race though. My one suggestion for you is to add a filler neck to your fuel cell. We were pitting for #4418 Colville and helped you guys when you came through the pits. It took me forever to get 5 gallons in your buggy

Thanks for helping, we appreciated it! When we first tried it earlier in the day my codawg said I should have got the straight neck, but I got the 45* one so I could add the neck later. It'll happen...

I need to get some mesh to line the inside of the grille and under the rad so the sediment can't get to the fins. Once it hits it, it just dries out immediately.

Not a problem! The dry break can was nice, just throw a hose clamp on that vent line and it would've been good. How did you like the ORI's?
