Seats in a Flatfender, what works best
stuffing seats in a flatfender is always tricky as you try to get enough leg room, decide if you're gonna cut the wheel wells, stretch it, etc.
I saw this and thought it was a pretty cool way to make original style seats work a little better. Side bolster flatty seats what did you do? suspension seats? bestop low backs?

The ones you linked look great...actually they are using the stock frames.
I am using Mastercraft Military seats. All I can say is that they are fantastic. I suffer from my Spine, and with those seats I never have pain.

Fred, I'm going for some low back suspension seats with a cage-mounted head pad for my next one.

I was running Bestop lowbacks in My willys but I changed them out for a pair of the cheap Racetrim lowback wide suspension seats... waaaay better, I needed to swap out the steering wheel though, couldnt fit with the big wheel

Got my seats from summit. Made a simple frame and cut the wheel houses all the way back to the tailgate. You can see what i mean in the 2nd pic below. Notching the wheel houses would have been sufficient, but I have wider axles and saw the opportunity for more cargo room.
I'm 6'3'' and am comfortable. ![]() ![]()

Fred,
I am keeping my 50 cj3 as stock as possible but I would consider those in all black. Are you going to have one of the seat companies build you a set like those ? Mine are currently stock but rebuilt. Not exactly comfortable or much support to them. |

I'm going to run low back corbeau's in mine. I had ordered them before I saw those side bolstered stock seats.
