Remember, the 4.3 is the same as the Chevy V-8 from the motor mounts back.Leaves more room up front cause it's shorter.
Best thing to do is look for a local Jeep with a Chevy V-8 or 4.3 swap and see what they did. |

What I wanted was to put some sort of overdrive trans in when I do the 4.3 swap, and I was thinking since a s10 5 speed would be already mated to the engine it would be the easiest, but the spline count doesn't match the dana 18 t-case and the s10 t case wont work with the axles it has. So I've now decided it would be easier just to find a buick bellhousing and mate it to the t90 trans, then buy a bolt on overdrive later on when I have some more money(I'm working on a high school student budget).

I think you're going to need a Chevy bellhousing.V-8 and 4.3 is the same.
Does the Jeep run now? Might be better to gather up all the stuff you need to do what you want, mock it to what needs to be modified and swap in all in together. |

For right now I'm just gonna run the stock engine for the summer, then swap in the 4.3 using a novak adapter(http://www.novak-adapt.com/catalog/kits_cx.htm) during the winter.
