Powertrain value

I have a 1953 CJ3A that I'm doing an engine swap on. I want to sell the engine but have no idea what they're worth. I could include the radiator, complete running L-134, and T-90 transmission. Any idea what I should ask for them Thanks, Reed

That is a good question, as I also have a 53cj3a I am doing a swap to.
Mine runs good and the tranny is tight. T-case works good as well.
Otta be worth a $1000????
Ill prob hang on to mine but guessed about that.

my feeling: not a whole lot.

maybe if you had some MINT stuff, and found an obsessive collector with money to spend, you could get a pretty dang nice price.

but for the most part, the guys who are messing with these things are doing it because its fun and inexpensive. the experiences of myself, and a couple other local guys i know messing with these, is that most of the old original used parts are obtained as trades or at pretty darn reasonable 'buddy' prices.

for example: i'd been on the hunt for a t90/d18 combo, and i was having more than a bit of trouble finding one to buy, until I 'bought' one a couple weeks ago for the cost of driving my cj3a over to BS about jeeps and drink a beer...

so pick the price you want to get for it, list it in all available places, maybe somebody will bite.... maybe not. when you want to just get the damn thing out of your garage, make yourself a new buddy and hook him up.

There's always a few on Craig's list, the prices are from 50 bucks on up depending on condition.I couldn't give away a D-18,scrapped it.Rusted out but running CJ's are 500 bucks?
When you sell something it's worthless,if you need to buy it,it's priceless.
