Does anyone know the name of this trail.
Sorry don`t know how to use photo shop. The trail starts just to the left of big johnson or the next canyon up on the map.And ends at the exit to upper b.j.

I've seen some tracks up that canyon, but have never run it. There's no name to it that I've ever seen or heard of.

I think Tim Florian was one of the first to run it. May be mistaken though.

I don't know if we were the first, but we ran it the same season Jon and Mitch built the Johnsons. I'm thinking 2000 or 2001. It was an official run at the same All-Pro Jambo that the Johnsons were introduced. It was called the Gatekeeper then.

Nope, not Boulderdash....
Boulderdash is the canyon North or Left of the Big Johnson canyon. Misery Mile is right there as well, but it is just to the right of Clawhammer. I have never been up that canyon, but looks like a lot of fun! |

We broke that one a couple years ago and it was unlikely it had ever been run before as there is a HUGE rock in the center of the trail with a large boulder blocking the only way around it. We ended up winching the large boulder onto its side making the obstacle passable with keen driving. Since then a lot of small rocks has filled in the big holes and is relativity easy to get around. Great trail for sure. I would say its difficulty level is on par with Sledghammer last time I ran it... |

Heard about that a few years ago, but never been up it. I haven't seen much talk about it. Good canyon?

sounds about right... Its a short canyon (and by short I mean the sides arnt very tall) that you will find during the VERY beginning of Claw. Its off to the right side during the fast sandy start of Claw. It curves up to the left and ends about 1/4-1/2 mile later. The decent is steep and off camber that drops down back into Claw a little ways before FOH.

I was told that canyon to the left as your leaving Big Johnson is called Boulderdash. Rob rolled twice going down it at Thanksgiving.
