Oct. 3-6 weekend
I'm going to be out there the first weekend in Oct. It will be me and one other rig, neither of us has ever been to the hammers before. Anyone going to be out there that wouldn't mind showing a couple of east coasters around? Both of us are in well built rigs and want to run the tougher trails. How far is it to the nearest town? Hotels? Bars? Camping is cool, but I'd like a shower and a bed after being in the truck for 2 days straight. Any advice/suggestions from the JV regulars would be greatly appreciated.

Yucca Valley is 20 miles south of Boone Rd. (The main dirt road to the Hammers) off of Hwy 247.
Yucca Valley has quite a bit more to offer than Lucerne. There's a couple of close markets and fuel about 1/2 way to Yucca as well. Lots of lodging and parts houses in Yucca as well. Apple Valley, Victor Ville, Hesperia direction to the west has more to offer, but it's a bit farther.
