OK, I have a feeling I will regret this, but I'll ask anyway:
What is the Phone Bush?

Verizon works great on Wrecking Ball, and at the entrance to Sledge. Coming down the exit it works really well, too, but I almost always lose signal about halfway across the lakebed.

Has anyone with T-mobile been out there lately? How is service/data on the lakebed these days?

I have Verizon now but it looks like we'll be going T-mobile here soon...

I have TMobile and spent 17 days there for this years KOH. In Hammertown I did not get reception. Did get reception at the cell phone bush. Not ideal to be unreachable when in town, but at least there was an option to use it.

I have Sprint and it worked nearly everywhere down there, not full bars just one or two.

I had full 4g service by the entrance to Chocolate thunder during KOH. Tmobile on Blackberry 9900. I would just go out and watch people run CT while I made phone calls and checked Pirate.

I think this is the spot: https://maps.google.com/maps?q=34.42...num=1&t=h&z=18

We have Sprint and use our phones as modems. We drove out to JV in the Jeep to try it out before the Hammers race and had a signal most places around the lake bed (4/6 bars instead of 1. I made a bracket and mounted the antenna (magnetic base) on top of the toy hauler. Went to the hammers race in Feb. and it worked great till the end of the week when there were 40 thousand people using the cell towers and it bogged down some. The unit we got can move from car to car and can be used with an outdoor antenna for your house. Our unit is about average but they make better units. Just make sure the amplifier works with your phone carrier (call Wilson up and ask). Overall I think these units work great.
Don't want to cause any trouble but I don't think there is 4G anywhere in this area.

Notwithstanding my prior post about Tmobile not working in Hammertown, I agree it was working at CT.

So with your setup, it is just amplifying the signal for anyone with Sprint huh? You are not the exclusive user(/s)?

I may be remembering incorrectly but I could have sworn I had full service out there on the hill near CT. I was on here and FB and sending pics like it was going out of style.

Just to be somewhat scientific about this, VZW's coverage map blows everyone away as far as their claims for service in the area. Tmobile and ATT appear to have some spotty coverage. Sprint shows off network roaming for most the area.

FWIW.

Thats true. Somewhere out there is a Sprint tower and the Wilson just amplyfies the signal to where we can use it.

Don't know how to get the quote so it shows of correctly.
oops i guess it works
