Anyone ever built there own system? I will be rebuilding mine from the manifolds back. Dont need cats. Building it for a 3.5 with Edelbrock manifold and 500cfm carb. Any recomendation on muffler? Dont want to be one of those a-holes I hear driving down the street and I want to hear my crappy stereo. Any input would be helpful.

well, one thing for sure, do NOT use a ''Flowmaster", that dull roar really gets on your nerves after awhile

Kellywoe,
Those exhaust manifolds on your engine are restictive. I would start their. Get some later 3.9 ones. Cut the kittens out of a later style y-pipe and refit with pipe. A LWB RRC downpipe will be better for your 130 as it has an extension. Then get a bossal muffler and the pipe that goes over the axle from bossal as well. You can finish the rest of the system with straight pipe. You may want to reduce the size of the pipe at the end of the system to help retain some heat and build torque.

My thoughts anyway.

Thanks, I will try tracking down a set of manifolds. There is supposed to be a Land Rover Graveyard nearby that I have yet to check out. I wasnt sure if 3.5 manifolds were the same as the 3.9's. This is the info I was looking for. I will let you all know how it goes. It will be awhile thogh. I just had a laminectomy and discectomy on monday and will be out of the garage for a few weeks.

I built the system on my scout. Bought a bunch of mandrel bends from J.C. Shitney and tube from Summit.
