Yep...the most recent one was a clean break right at the splines and the drive flange. I think those days are behind me
though

Friend of mine broke one. 4.4lV8, LT95, F&R lockers, 33's. Snapped off at the splines just inside the drive flange. Extremely clean cut - looked like it was cut off with a drop saw. Was trying to climb a ledge at the time.

Count me in for one!

Uhm, one of those spensive ones too, I was using the GKN slip clutches also. I was at Pismo in the sand spanking the 37's trying to pull a rangie out of a sand pit... I shoulda known as my gass foot was to happy.... it broke clean as a whistle, I put the stub on my winch top next to the radiator grill... its axle voodoo... its stayed there for 3 years so far

I've seen lots of bells blow... But only one at the shaft "base of the threads"... Tis helped me with that one! When you go that far it's time for a rethink of the axles and their potential...
Like get different ones...
As much as I like the smoothness of CV's CTM 60 joints in a 35 spline front 60 look like the way I'll be going...
