Looking to buy a used RR or Disco as a DD....
I will do the internet search thingy...but thought some might know off the top..
Any particular years to look for or avoid? Budget will likely be around 16k Cdn $. How does the interior space in a Disco compare to a Jeep Gran Cherokee? Thanks guys |

16.000 CD=9,980.66 USD so that puts you into a 94-96 Disco I range.
The 96 is a funky year and what I drive. The 96 model year has some major upgrades to the motor. and a few pitfalls. Upgrades: stiffer block with cross bolted main caps Updated oil pump OBDII engine management system with knock sensor( some think of this a down grade) (OBDII scanner with non-uniform rover codes is only 120.00+laptop pc) Turn signals in the upper light as well as the bumper. Nice if you want to toss the stock bumper. Problems: The heads have a problem with carbon build up and the valves stick. The fix is simple, drive it like you stole it! My disco had new heads that were installed 20k before I bought it. The idle will get a little lumpy from time to time and a trip down the freeway in 3 rd gear for 10 miles is an essy fix. A Range Rover 4.6L short block is a bolt in job in a 96 and up . The 94-95 will take the 4.6L but it will need more part$ and work.
