32x11.50x15 trimming ?

Howdy,

I want to get bigger tires (32's for now) and plan to go even larger in the future after drive train upgrades (read once I get the money for them).. So for now I was thinking of getting 15x8 GCR rims as the 15 inch rims seem to have a larger selection of 33 and 35 inch tires for my future perchases and 32x11.50x15 tires in either the GY MTR or BFG KM.. I'm wondering though with my 4 inches of lift will I need to trim out any extra from the wheel well then I would if I used the standard 265/75R16s? Just wondering if I'm going to have to trim out an inch around the whole wheel well or if I can just nick 2 inches of the rear lower lip like every body else?

Ya, Ya, Ya, I know ass question but, I could use the help anyways..

with a 4" lift, I am betting you won't have to trim much more than the 265/75's at all. Just a hunch, though.

More info needed

If you are looking for cheap GCRs I have some under the for sale section of the BBS. Now to answer your question. What lift kit??? How much articulation. Are you running extended bump stops. What shocks up front. How much travel (e.g. 10", 12", 14"???) Are your shocks internal or external. Runing a wheel spacer? What is the front spring rate? Are you running a heavy bumper and a winch? Are you running a three link or hinged arm?

All of these affect articulation. Have you ever tried to cycle your suspension to see what limits up travel? If any of the above do, then you should not have much of a problem, as the tire size you are reffering to is relatively small. You can always run 5" bump stops and then you do not need to trim. On the other hand, a balanced suspension requires a lot of up travel. I reccomend trimming over limiting up travel.

I'm running 3 RTE HD springs front and rear. 1 inch RTE Spacers front and rear. I have rancho 9000s from 2 inch kit that I bought from RTE... I'm running upper rear RTE shock mount on stock lower mounts. In the front I have top of spacer shock mounts. Not sure on the exact part numbers on the Ranchos though.. I have the RTE front and rear arms.. I believe that my up travel is limited right now only by the springs compressing and the spacer..

P.S. thanks for the offer but, I want brand spanking new rims..

Sorry, almost forgot.. I'm running stock front and rear bumpers right now but, once RTE finishes designing my bumper I will have an RTE bumper with a Ramsey RE12000 winch.
