Exclamation Disco II recall

just got news in the mail today, '99-01 Disco II's safety recall.
#02V-028 Throttle Cable Sticking
#02V-022 Inappropriate ABS Activation
repairs free of charge, call 1.800.637.6837 for more info.

i had thought my ABS was acting funny, at low speeds it would sometimes give a lot of feedback through the pedal. Have to see if this cures it.

Hmmmmm..too bad we can't blame that on the fast brake pad wear and get a new set of pads. It's just about time for new ones.

hmmmm...hell, try it! Rover Dallas is pretty much customer friendly. I have a Friday appointment to do the recall. They said it would stop the funny pedal thing, and the throttle cable is just some that were kinked during the build. I was told that you can look and tell if yours is one that needs it. Mine looked fine ( I had 'em on the phone with me while I looked) I like takin it to the dealer for service, they give me a Freelander loaner and they wash and detail my Disco

I drove a freakin Chrysler Labarron when I was getting a new front driveshaft installed...had that boat anchor for 3 days and i called them up and said i couldn't drive this anymore and found a dealer who had the part in stock...lucky for me they already found that part and was inthe process of installing it!

Seems the salt with the OME lift realy puts alot of wear on the driveshaft...funny enough...the only spot that had cracks was in the center of the truck where there are NO grease nipples!!

I wish that recall covered series 1's. I snapped the throttle cable on mine Saturday. I guess that explains why LR Dallas had plenty of them in stock.

On top of that the ABS is really screwy on it too. It'll go off for about the first minute any time you touch the brakes, then the yellow ABS light comes on and it works fine. You sure that recalls for series II's?

FLEM! It is just plain weird to see you on a LR board man... BTW, my throttle is sticking since they did the recall. I guess the boomerang trips will continue. We took the 90 up and dropped it off and picked up the Disco yesterday. I guess when the 90 is finished we'll drop the Disco back off...
