Still coonsidering 3" BS on the wheels.
Only pending problem is the disc brake will be out naked subject to being scratched.

I have in mind to re-build the stock disc brake shield and extend it over the edges to protect the discs on rocks.
Appreciate your insights.

Other than stress on steering pumps do you see an issue with spindles and or bearings at 3" BS.

wouldn't have thought the disc shields would be up to it, any ding hard enough to damage the discs aint goin' be be slowed down much by thin tin sheet.

ditch them, they aren't really gonna hold up to much.

complete waste of time, the stock shields are stamped sheetmetal. I had to rip mine off when they came loose on the trail - all they do is just trap dirt and pebbles anyway.

Why not go to drums if you really want to protect the brakes from rocks?

Just get the right offset wheels and that's that...my disks have NEVER been touched by anything but the pads

Took my shields off as well. That way mud, sticks, rocks and scaboki don't get caught between them and the rotors.
