Holy crap!! Glad we don't have that problem! I'd hate to look under my rig somewhere on the trail and see that!!

Last time mine failed, it just locked into high range and broke the selector rod. Still haven't pulled that case apart to find out why.

Transfer box failures in the Jeep crowd are common. My friend (Lance Harkey) is on his 4th Tera 4:1. He only runs 33" tires with an automatic. We saw several failures in the pits during the last rock-crawling contest. I have not seen an Atlas fail (other than couldn't get it into 4x4).

When my friends help me drop the LR unit so that I could install the Maxi gears, they couldn't believe the size of the unit, or the size of the gears. By the way, the Maxi gears are straight cut, but massively built (very wide at the tooth).
