Steering box question

I am hooking up my steering box to the power steering pump and was dont remember which line is the high pressure line and which is the return. I believe that the larger diameter line towards the rear of the vehicle is the return and the high pressure line is the smaller diameter line in the front. I would like to be certain before I make the lines and have to replace them. I dont know if it makes any difference but it is left hand drive

I guess it would be easier if I told you it was an '89 RRC.

Thanks,
Matt.

If anyone is motivated and has a RRC then look at your steering box. There are three hose connections near where the shaft that is connected to the steering wheel enters the steering box. One goes down and back into the steering box and is made of all metal. One goes to the fluid reservoir and the last goes to the pump on the front of the engine. Both of these are metal connections to a rubber hose.

I need to know which one goes to the pump and which one goes to the reservoir. The one closest to the rear of the truck or the front of the truck?

I am offering a free can of Coors light or Busch for the person with the first correct answer. You get to choose the beer and must show propper ID when picking it up (I do not ship).

Thanks, Matt.

You are correct..

That is what I thought. Well, it is what I thought after the worm shaft pressure seal went POP and started leaking profusely.

Remember to make sure to correctly label you parts when you disassemble so you can propperly reassemble.

Does anyone out there have an extra worm shaft seal. If you do send me a PM and I will gladly buy it from you.

Matt.
