Anybody from Oregon???
Help us out! The Forest Service has effectively closed the Deschutes and Ochoco National Forests. The roads are closed unless on one of the 13 maps they have released it is marked open for whatever day you are up there. I live IN the Deschutes National Forest and recreate often, just a short drive because I can. There is a petition, I am not certain on the requirements but it IS a NATIONAL Forest, so realistically EVERYONE should be concerned.

They were on the news again last night, interview with FS Spokeswoman: "Nothing has changed, now there are maps""And you don't need all 13, just the ones for the area you are going to". How about the rule is reversed, all roads are OPEN unless MARKED Closed. The way it has always been...

WOW... Signatures doubled in about 16 hours!!!! Keep this thing going! I think that since WE paid to put the roads in WE should have access when WE want. Eh, what do I know?

Bumping this to help stop the madness. BTW, you don't have to be from Oregon to realize that having to carry 13 maps is ridiculous. You can be from "New York City" and realize this is just plain stupid.
