Fight CBD where it counts - their pocketbook

Sungevity (home solar panel company) is continuing their partnership with Center for Biological Diversity. CBD sends out an email advertisement to their minions, in which they get $750 off their home solar installation, and Sungevity sends $750 to CBD.

Here's the deal.

Quote:
We're excited to share an opportunity with you that has the potential to reap triple benefits -- for the environment, for you and your electricity bill and for the Center for Biological Diversity.

Over the past two years, 72 Center supporters have already gone solar by participating in this unique and affordable way to lease solar panels for their homes, and simultaneously raise funds for the Center.

Here's how it works:

Sungevity, a home-solar installer serving Arizona, California, Colorado, Delaware, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey and New York, puts up solar panels on your house for free when you sign up to lease from them.
You pay Sungevity on a monthly basis for your home-solar lease, usually the same or less than your pre-solar electric bill.
Once your new solar system is installed and inspected, Sungevity will give a $750 cash gift card to you and $750 to support the Center.

With Sungevity, you could attain the dream of home-solar power for nothing more than you were paying in electric bills before -- plus the atmosphere will be spared roughly 8.24 metric tons of CO2 a year. It's a green home run.

To take advantage of this offer, click the orange box above or go to the Center's Sungevity Web page to request a free solar iQuote. You can also copy and paste this link into your Web browser: http://www.sungevity.org/center-biological-diversity.

Within 24 hours Sungevity's remote solar designers will send you an email with all the details of how much you can save and what your home solar lease would look like. This offer is good through the end of 2012.

If you have any questions, please contact Sungevity directly at info@sungevity.com, or call 1-866-SUN4ALL (866-786-4255).

Donate now to support our work.
So I wrote a letter to Sungevity's general email box (info@sungevity.com) from their website form, to give them a piece of my mind by letting them know that this is not an acceptable partnership. I suggested BlueRibbon Coalition would be a much less-offensive environmental organization to support.

Even better is to give this company your infomation, have them send out sales - estimate folks, and then just blow them off when they think they are likely to get the sale.

At the end, just say that you were just made aware of the donation CBD gets and you cannot support such a company that supports this group.

This will cost the company quite a bit of money if enough of those who utilize this concept.
