I've seen the actions of the Cal4 leadership, and the ambivalence of the board from the beginning of this administration, and I have profound problems with actions taken, the absence of a moral center, and lack of professionalism, right up to statements made in the current In-Gear, which I will probably post separately.
History proves that there is no point talking to the leadership or to the BOD... they are blind to what has happened and supported by the Cal4 family that supports them without question. The only way to register my vote is with my membership, so until I see an organization that is moving forward instead of backward, like may others, I'm walking. I see no option.
There are other organizations that are professionally run and actually making a difference. Cal4 isn't one of them right now. When it is I'll join up.
Ditto.....

Okay, as someone who not by choice works 60 hours a week its hard to keep up with whats going as I'd like to. Seeing Joe here, I respect Joe I think maybe I"m missing some stuff. So, what is it? Specifically, whats going on? Not "cal4wheelsucks" but what specifically is the problem?

I'm pretty bummed myself. While the antis donate millions to suwa, cbd, sierra club etc, we sit around and fight amongst ourselves

nope
backwards movement, arm chair politics with no effort in person at the capitol. Also who wants to contribute to a organization that spends money out of state for goods and services?? to so called save a dollar? Lets look at the true non profit money spent for last year of cal4wd I am certain you will never see this in full light and disclosure.
Contribute local adopt trails and get out there and repair and keep open the stuff we enjoy recreating on"clear trees repair washouts and organize work partys"

It seems that those who aren't involved with Cal4 in some direct way have been insulated from the drama of the last 18+ months, and the Cal4 "family" are either in severe denial, blind, or simply have a different definition of what is normal and acceptable. This is more the case among the northern CA crowd... more southland members got it.
Unfortunately this would be a conversation better had over a beer... too much water under the bridge and I don't see any point stirring things up again as nothing is going to change. If you go back through Pirate history you might find the running melodrama. It's all true, and it's not the half of it.
