Found this today 6/14 on a local BB. Thought you might want to read.

"I talked with the Forest Service today and they confirmed that "Carnage Canyon" aka the jeep trail in Lefthand Canyon will be permantly closed very soon. There will be a 45 day appeal process. The date will be published in the Daily Camera..(in very small print, date unknown.)"

Really a shame what has happened to that area over the years. It's also too bad since that was a trail that could be run year round and was readily accessible. Looks like a few more months of fun and thats it.

It's sad but we did it to ourselves, despite lots of hard work on clean-ups and with the FS. This was bound to happen. Hopefully other FS offices are more open to working with everyone.
