What are you going to say to defend your boys now that other pics show more of the same. They are showing a total lack of respect to the 4 Wheel Drive clubs that adopt those trails. I know members of Fresno 4 Wheel Drive who keep of Dusy/Ershim and I also know members of Lock and Low who keep up the Mirror Lake trail. They spent countless hours every year opening trails so people can have entertainment. There is just no reason for this type of action. Just sad. |

If you honestly think that on a 30 mile trail, all the rigs on the run can be babysat at every minute then your are wrong. The way you guys are trying to put all the responsibility on the Vandor is bs. That's like saying that if someone is killed because they were driving drunk on there way to a vendor sponsered run, that it is the vendor's fault for not telling them not to drive drunk on the way.

This run....was a DISASTER. I just looked at the new pictures...
MULTIPLE instances of NOT being on the trail. The one picture says right on it..."Playing on a new rock section". There is NO new rock section...it's called driving off trail to get something more challenging. The large rock they're "playing" on, is NOT part of the trail. SHAME SHAME SHAME on everyone involved...from Trail Gear to the drivers, to the people taking photos and finally to the morons who posted them on the internet. I feel for everyone at Fresno 4WD club who works so hard on this trail to make it clean and OPEN.

I understand that they cannot take full responsibility, because no matter what, people are going to do what they do. I just would have liked to seen an apology like, "We are sorry for what happened during the run and we are efforting to make sure actions like this will never happen again." Instead they make it sound like it's all a2b's (Hobie's) fault. It's not all his fault and he manned up for what he did wrong. I think what people want to hear, at least I do, is that these people will be thrown off the future runs instantly if any wrong doing is exhibited. All we have heard so far is a worthless statement. |

How 'bout we all learn from this and move forward a much better educated group of wheelers?
Enough bashing already, that's just as bad as not treading lightly ....

you're right tim. part of what frustrates me about this situation is the fact that chris/TG are not even suggesting/agreeing that they may be partially at fault. their response to "why did'nt you hold a drivers meeting" was "we handed out fliers from the forrest service in regards to proper trail usage....". who reads a flier? nobody!!! should'nt they have taken the 5 minutes to hold a simple drivers meeting? every event i have ever been to had a drivers meeting. i'm the trail leader on an outlaw run during one of the major wheeling events on the west coast. even though it's an outlaw run and we normally only have 8-15 rigs, i always hold a drivers meeting with simple guidelines like "respect others property and privacy. treat other the way you want to be treated. do your absolute best to tread lightly." and so on. you get the point. since they were the event organizer/sponsor, they should at the very least come out publically with an announcement along the lines of "we're sorry to hear that some of the individuals on our run behaved less than appropriate and will do our best to find out what happened and take the appropriate actions to ensure that this will not happen again. we will also try to idnetify the individulas in question in order to attempt to rectify the situation" instead of letting hobie take the fall by himself. in my eyes, that would give Tg a lot more credibility than their canned-job-corporate-america-form-letters. but then again, i'm not a fan of TG/geiger so they can keep doing what they're doing.

This whole thing is a disaster. Not for Trail Gear or Hobie. But for all of us. You obviously have an agenda. You post in every anti TG thread on the board. And if a day goes by without one, you create one. There is no excuse for this, but the evidence has been presented. The guilty parties have been dealt with both by the authorities and the court of public opinion. The only thing you are going to accomplish now is closing a trail. And YOU will have to stand up and take some accountability in that as well as them.

Actually, if you look back, that is the 1st picture I have posted. Why are you always singling out me? Maybe it's because you have an agenda and what I say has truth to it and has struck a nerve with you.. I was wondering when you might pipe up.

The URL was changed just like the page http://nowhitefenders.com/images/Dusy%20aug25%202k6/ I'm glad I saw this as I was going to place a $2k order with Trail Gear today. They do have partial responsibilty. If they don't want to come to PBB due to bashing - fine. .. .but I have not been impressed with their posts on their own forum. I have never had a problem with them before as I do believe in a free market and competition. |

The only nerve you struck is the one that says that posting that pic is more of a problem than taking the pic. If you can't see how that is an issue, there is nothing that can be done for you. I choose to generally not respond to you because you are an idiot. You think you are promoting Marlins agenda and you spout off every chance you get. This whole issue is ugly from every perspective. I'm not defending Trail Gear. My choice to post now is from the perspective of keeping our trails open, and if you'd like to challenge my track record on that. Bring it.
