Right now I think that these will be very poorly attended.
I posted this up 2 weeks ago in both Land Use and Northern California...there has been absolutley no interest. If you dont attend, you are accepting the way things are and dont see an need to have anything changed. These are Saturday open houses, this is where we can sit down and talk about specific routes that have been affected and how and why we would like to see them added back. I will be going to the Amador meeting in Pioneer on the 18th, and even though I am on a camping trip on the 25th, I am going to drive back down to Camino for the Placerville and Pacific meetings. I have met with Patricia Trimble and told here we will have someone going to the Georgetown meeting...just havnt had any takers yet

I'll see you there on the 25th. I'm trying to get Barb to go, I think she will.

Jerry is going to that meeting also and I will try to see if Jen and Lisa will be able to make it too. I talked with Ray Nutting and he wants to be there as well

We will see ya there!
I would sugest that people look at the maps that are now available and look at the area you are familiar with. there are seperate maps for each ranger district http://www.fs.fed.us/r5/eldorado/rec...el/index.shtml There are MANY changes that have been made. Roads have been added, roads have been deleted, and roads have been changed as to type of vehicle use. these are changes since the FEIS was released. not sure how they got to do that.

The first two meetings are tomorrow and I dont see anyone that plans on going to either....
So far I only see 4 people all from Pollock Pines (plus Jerry) that are going to next weeks meeting in Camino....... Are we all that happy with the outcome of the final decision?

WOW...I finally got on the website and was able to download the maps and compare them to the Modified B in the ROD. I don't know why all the changes surprise me. Some routes were gone, some were longer than proposed. I only gave a quick look, but how would one determine that they could drive their ATV from Airport flat to Wentworth springs campground from only looking at this map?

Wow, thats depressing. And it looks as though it going to be a smaller crowd this weekend, christ, its a weekend. How hard is it to show up, ask some questions, let the FS know the OHV crowd still gives a sh*t about them telling us when and where we can visit the forest that we pay for. Shrugging your shoulders and just saying "Oh well, we figured they would change the maps, but, Oh well," dont get it. There are alot of people/groups (i.e. Friends of Eldorado, FOTR, and I am sure many others that I don't know of) working with the FS trying to keep them honest. Working with them for trail clean-up, developing plans for future work, etc. A little show of support would go along way. The crowd at the Water Board meeting was impressive and that was a weekday. A good showing here might send a message to other states that we are keeping the FS honest to help keep the trail closures to a minimum. Rant off. Thanks for listening. Jerry
