Ok, here's the word I got from the wife, Los Coyotes is not closing as of right now. What the Indians are p!ssed off about is the lack of respect for the land by individuals who are throwing thier garbage out onto the ground. They understand that there are responsible groups and clubs that take care of thier garbage.
To me, it sounds like everyone in So. California better get together and start planning clean up runs to keep this place open. The last one was a big success!
If any one needs help getting clean up runs together please email or PM me and I will be glad to help out when I get back to the States.

Okay, I just got back from Los Coyotes.
There is a sign up at the entrance that
says the reservation is staying open to
4-wheeling. I spent about 10 minutes
talking to the lady at the gate on Friday
morning and according to her the reservation
is going to stay open through the summer,
and they will see how things go. The indians
seem to think that the problems are coming
from individuals, not organized clubs. It's
like we're on probation, if the reservation
continues to get trashed, it will be closed.

This is cool. I hope the place remains open forever. Everyone needs to packout what they pack in. Count me in if there is another cleanup. I love Los Coyotes.
Why can't people take their trash with them? I hear the 'Con had crap all over the place. Sad. C'mon people, It's up to us to keep our trails green. Brad.

Thanks Guys (and Mrs. Jack ) for all the info. It sucks that we're "on probtion" like this, but it may work out in the long run. At least the Indians know we are not the problem and are trying to be part of the solution. I'm quite sure everyone on this baord picks up their own trash and then some, it's the individuals (usually locals) that are ruining it for everyone else. Keep up the good work everyone!!...

I agree with the problems coming more from individuals. I am not involved with any organized club just meet with different people out there. It does seem that the problems do come from younger small groups that go out there and party. When I was out there for spring break we pulled some guy out that was stuck in a 2wd cherokee and was not even on the trail. I know he felt like crap after we gave it to him for going off the trail whale we were pulling him out. I like the idea of seperate charge fees I'll just have to find a club to join now.

Matt

Hey Matt, you are more than welcome to join ours. As soon as I get back I'm going to see about getting registered with CAL4WD.
