The confusion is probably coming from the fact that the 3800 is a 90 degree motor with a 60 degree bellhousing. It is a bolt in other than 2 things. The flywheel will need to be redilled for the torque convertor bolts (3 hole pattern on the motor, 4 on the TC). The bellhousing also has to be notched for the starter. You can probably see that in my build thread.

was the trans a " quote un quote" bolt in to the motor, like i said i'm having problems with poeple giving me straight answers, their saying that a gm 3800 is a 90* bell housing and a 2.8 ( gm ) is a 60*, so in sight of what you have they appear to fit nicely.

Its a 904 from 2.8 Cherokee. I'm happy with everything so far. The motor has a bunch of power, and I've considered building it even more but I'm afraid the trans isn't going to be happy with much over 400hp!
