I was reading your post about aw-4 swap onto an AMC 4.2 because I'm working on the same basic system you built and I was interested in the mechanical details of you install. What flex plate, torque coverter, etc. did you use? I was just in my garage trying to fit an AW-4 with an AW-4 torque converter and flexplate/driveplate onto a 4.2. The bolt holes line up perfect but I have about 3/4 of an inch between the bell housing and the block. Am I missing something? I'm quite frustrated and confused since what I've read says it should bolt right on. I could really use your experience and quick response. I'm 2 weeks out from a competition and I assumed this would all go together quick. Sorry if you get this message twice, I'm firing emails i every direction I can to fix this quick. :)

If this is your information can you tell me who's part numbers are those?
