Was reading something you wrote back in 2003 on building engines

I'm in the planning stage of building a rock crawler. The biggest engine I own is a 88 EFI 351w. I've been searching the web, reading hear, and reading books on building engines, but I just can't figure out how to pick the right components to achieve the results I want. This engine would sit ahead of a NP435, still saving for a NP205, but have also entertained the idea of a bw1356/ bw1356 doubler. I'd prefer a NP203/ NP205. Current axles are a D44HD 4.11 & D70-3HD 4.11 ( common lowest gear i can find so far is 5.13 ). I'd like to run 42 pitbulls, but it seems to big for what I've been reading for a 351 to handle. I can get a lower common gear with a D60, which I am also saving for. Can you point me in the right direction as to how I could build the 351 with low end torque, but still be competitive enough to run with the ultra4's?
