So, Im the guy that built that Dana 18 Low range... Id love to explain it to you if you like. Its real. Does actually exist. Was a LOT of work! Thanks, Homer.
Dude! Nice jeep! Hey I just noticed your rebuild on your cj2a. Nice! Could you help me with mine! I just need to know what the clearances of main & rod bearings, also if crank needs cut, how do I know how much I can afford to cut? and, can I order thicker bearings? All info would be deeply appreciated!
Really enjoying this build. I am also working on a flatty "retro" build. 1962 3b, scout axles, dana 18 into 20 (2.46:1 d-20) stock engine, stock transmission. Gained the disc brakes from the scout axles (front) and power steering gear box from a exploder.
Lots of ballistic fab parts and 3 link front, 4 link rear. slightly stretched. I am trying to maintain as stock of a body as possible. Some parts from Herm, and found some really helpful guys out in Oregon (R&P4wd) (I am in the Atlanta area)
Progress is slow, but getting there. I have some pics if you want to see them
