Hey man did you ever finish your harness for your vehicle you were talking about in the custom harness thread you started? I'm going to start ripping one apart tomorrow from an 86 S10 Blazer I want to install a 305 TBI and 700r4 into an 85 Chevy C10 pickup. I have read a lot about standalone harnessed but the companies that make them want an insane price for them. My only option is to make one. Was hoping you were going to get the thread you started finished so if I ran into any wires I didn't know anything about I could reference your thread.

John, Sorry for not responding sooner (have been traveling). I got it running fine the day after I sent you the message. I just studied the various parameters and finally understood what was going wrong.

    Hey Jack,
The DTS can convert bins and such. I had a guy send me a 4.8l manual tune bin file.

What I ended up doing to partially handle the issue was compare a 4.8l manual tune to my 6.0l tune using an Excel spread sheet and then changed things that were NOT tables. It is sort of works but it is NOT optimal.

There were several differences in the constants tables beyond JUST the manual transmission parameter. Lots of diag type things. But there were things under the Fuel Parameters table, System Parameters table, Diagnostic Parameters table, Idle Control parameters, etc. Something like 30-40 just in those.

I'd rather not share what I did as I'm not 100% certain what I changed was related to the 4.8l and what was stick related. And I don't want to screw someone's engine up by something I provided.

I'm currently trying to track down a stock manual tune for an LQ4 but haven't found anything free yet. I did get a vin for it: 1GCHK29U24E103332 I'm not sure how much GM would charge me but I'm considering it.

But as I said, no luck in finding a free one online. Just one vendor trying to sell me a tune.

If I weren't being a stubborn ass and wanting a base tune before a modified tune, I'd already have gotten a modified tune :p

    Hi John...Long time, no talk.

I have a favor to ask of you. I am helping a friend with an LQ4 conversion and am experiencing conditions very much like you had with your conversion. This is a 2003 that was mated to a 4L80E. My buddy is using a turbo 350, so it essentially behaves like a manual tranny. Like you, I have the JET DTS. After turning off the VATS and other stuff, I flashed the VCM with the switch telling it that it had a manual transmission. It starts, but appears to be in "limp" mode. It idles just fine, but any throttle results in crap.

What did you ending up doing to get your engine to run above idle? Do you have a JET DST calibration file (*.jcl) that works for your engine that you might share with me.

Any help will be greatly appreciated, John

    Jack
