another concern i have is, ive got a daily driven full time 4x4. i want to lock both the front and rear, dana 30 and 44. ive been reading forums and it seems the e locker may not stand the test of time. something about how the locker goes to limited slip when not engaged, causing failure. these threads are from 2007, 08. technology has advanced and they could be dead wrong too, but do you have any input on this topic? would you recommend the e locker now that you've had it for some years now

i know this is an old thread about the eaton e locker but you stated it takes approx. 120 degrees of carrier rotation to lock the pins/collar. If you try to thrash on it before it is locked you risk damaging the pins or collar. Likewise, trying to engage it during a wheelspin situation is bad. Also, any time you reverse the carriers rotation (either going from forward to reverse or vice versa) while locked, the locker will unlock and then relock, with the whole cycle taking approx. 240 degrees of carrier rotation. Once again, wheelspin or hammering on it before it is completely relocked can break shit. if your stuck good and the only way to get free is to rock your way out by putting it forward and reverse, are you suggesting to ease into the throttle first? or just not dont do it? any advice?

I've been following Tim's Cummins swap into his Suburban and you seem to be VERY knowledgeable about conversions.

I have a '95 Suburban with a dead 6.5L, it died a few months back and I'm looking for different options of what to do with it; and Tim's project sure has gotten my interest.
The only problem is that I'm not mechanically inclined but I'm learning a lot from the Thread.

Where r u located? Just out of curiosity.
