While there was a lot of tongue in cheek in denying great fishing, it isn't totally untrue, either.
There are fish in some of the lakes, but this time of the year they are fully fed and illusive.
Flies early and late seem to do better than worms, with trolling flashers ahead of worms not a total bust.
Knowing the best places in which lakes is maybe the best bet. If I were to catch and release, I'd be trying Campbell Lake. Long lake is really slow. Best is Chipps, but it is a back breaking hike back out... straight up, rock scramble, and you won't be able to use a kyack.
Saddle lake not bad, from far side.. Skip Spring valley and Grassy lakes.
