Tip Winner- Finding Leaks!!

New Tech for finding old leaks!!!

Did you know you could put a fluorescent tracer in the fuel/oil/water etc. and play with a black light to find the offending component.

At the local auto parts place they sell this new stuff, which comes in different colors and formulations for coolant, fuel, oil, AC coolant, etc.

You just dump it in, doesn't take much to do the job and you can leave it in without hurting anything. I think its in the $5-10 range. Plus whatever it costs for a small black light.

Additional bonus: if your truck leaks a lot you can rent it out to the local rave promoter as a giant "glow toy"

Preassembled- NO CRIMP, MOISTURE PROOF Terminal Connectors

Yep yep..... new and available at Napa etc. so I've read.

They come preassembled with Low heat solder and shrink wrap. Just strip and insert wire then heat. Some can be heated with a heat gun onthers need a little more like a lighter or propane torch.

Quote:
Heat Shrink Connectors with Solder
This heat shrinkable tubing has an adhesive lining which provides a complete environmental seal to prevent corrosion and negative galvanic action. The soldering process insures that no resistance or voltage drop will occur at the connection. The tubing and solder together provide a splice which is stronger - mechanically and electrically than the actual wire...
