my latest pouser shots

Here are a few pics of my 404 with new tires, and new rear springs. I am running xl 12.5 R20's, and about 3" of lift.
I moved the rear springs to the front, and mounted up a set of dodge front springs into the rear. The truck backed off the ramp quite a bit when I set the brake, so it does go farther forward, but in reverse, it will almost drive off the ramp. I have to re set my front shock mounts, but other than that, it works great so far. It feels real good on the street, and feels stable on the ramp. Hope fully, i will get to test it this weekend at the AGR wheelin ranch.

ok, here is a pic of the rear springs in the front. Notice how compresed the spring is. It can actually compress a little past the stack height, since it is tapered at both ends. I would say that the spring rate is real close to what it should be up there for crawling. The backs how ever may be a little bit stiffer than they should be by about 30-50lbs. The front stock shocks have to be lowered 4" at the top mount, to control full comp. (temporary, and will add stops later), and to give it enought droop. Anyway, hope you enjoy

The tires are great there is some minor dry rot, but it is only on the surface. But that is jsut how these things are being used and abused. For the price you cant go wrong. Mike is a good guy, and I highly suggest him for as long as he has tires around. He has really fair prices. I am going to groove them tomorrow, and then they should be good to go.

Looking good!

KC,

Many you gotta use bigger photos. I'm having to squint to see that purdy truck. I can't see all that well to begin with due to the 'ol hairy palm syndrome my grandfather used to warn me about.

Mike's tire prices are fantastic, even if they are XL's. You can greatly improve the tread pattern if you cut them like you're doing. Please show us the tires too when you're done.
