My yellow beast gets mounted
Update,
This weekend I finally got all the Radio box Roof brush gaurds and roof rack mounted back on its top. When they shipped the Mog they hacked some of them off and unscrewed everything. Thanks Michael Chenevert! I bought his radiobox top's brush gaurds from him some time back to replace the ones hacked on mine. The large roof rack spans the whole top and replaces the brush gaurds over the hatches. It looks more like its old self again. Pic is what it looked like before it left Belgium. On its arrival last summer me and Chris Elliot; whom imported it for me, got it temporarily remounted to make room for me to camp inside the box on the long journey home. Bolt holes remained unfilled etc, and not all brackets were used. I have kept a tarp on it so they wont leak. Got all the brackets mounted... a few are missing . Took me a good 8 hours. Working alone made it extra difficult. Couldn't convince my dog I could teach him how to hold a wrench. I wanted him to hold the bolt heads inside the radiobox while I tighten them on the outside. This is how the roof rack is mounted, and it took most of my time. I used allen head stainless steel bolts and nuts so they wont rust and glue to hold the bolt in place long enough for me to scamper up to the top and put a nut on the other end. Good use of lock washers and patience I was eventually able to tighten everything down with out the bolt just spinning. Few weeks ago the oil cooler on the 617 motor began leaking baddddd.. like a qt/5min. Not good. I bypassed it with a brass water hose repair kit for now. Went to Summit Racing to look at oil coolers to see what I could us to mount as a new one. The MB one used on mine is a 1990-91 rare MB car model and it's $$300. While there a guy (Damon) saw the mog and was asking everyone in the showroom who's mog it was till he found me. Great guy... a welder, he has been drooling over Mogs for awhile, and has bid on one on ebay. He may hook me up and repair the back of my cab. (there basically is no back of my cab) Check out his web site for some of his creations. kustomkid.com He's no kid but the name helps sell his stuff. One of his Ray gun's would be fun to mount on the Mog:-) I'll become jobless in July and will move to FL to take care of my aging parents. While there I'll go back to school. Not sure in what yet, but it's time to move on. Well enough rambling. Hope everyone had a good easter
