I would like to purchase a Unimog in the next year. I want to use it for towing my 84 CJ 7, camping and as a daily driver. Something in the $20,000 to $25,000. Any suggestions? Preferrably a 4 door hard top. I live in Oregon

look for a doka cab, and why bother with the cj7? just drive the mog on the trails.

Buy that big bobbed duce from 100 dollarman. It would do more and you could make a moterhome out of it.

Sounds like you need a good, domestic 3/4 ton truck. Any kind of decent Mog will outclass the CJ on the trails, and doesn't make much sense for a tow rig.

I'll second that. You'd need to a least triple your budget to get what you're talking about.

Towing is done with my bus.If you want a mog use it to go to the trails with. Call expedition-imports.com they can give you a lot of info so can www.classicunimogs.com I gave up on trying to make my mog travel on the freeway at 65 let alone tow at 55. GOOD LUCK!

I've kicked around the idea of selling mine. '86 Doka, fast axles and "high output" engine(

125 hp). I agree though, wouldn't be the fastest tow vehicle, coolest maybe.
