New Moderator

Why is it I allways get the jobs that dont pay shiat....

bwwwwahahahah.

Anywho's Looks like Im the new moderator. There a few in here I had already given a talken too before I got this title. Those I spoke too have toned it down. Thank you for respecting my desire to keep this a functioning forum even before I got the moderator status.

Wolfgang and Unissimog you two seem so far to be the ones with the most knowledge whom are "often" on the board so I hope I can pull you two in as right hands.

Though not here, but in general, with other Moggers in the US we have a small battle to fight cause a lot of the US Mog world, that I have been around, is so much against "modifications" cause, in their minds, the Mog is so "perfect" out of the box they don't fathom changing it. Some of those folk know the Mog like the back of their hands and I hope to bring them on board here as well.

It will take some coaxing cause their mind set is so different of things here. You know... the mind set of. (in the voice of the narator of the TV serious "The Bionic Man") WE CAN MAKE IT BETTER, WE CAN MAKE IT STRONGER AND FASTER THAN IT WAS BEFORE.

PS. excuse my spelling it has allways suked so live with it!

Your now recognized by me as my unoffical G-Wagen Expert

When I PM'd Llance I will take on the Moderator post if he so choose I actually put in a Vote for Unnisamog if he had expressed interest

congrats Geo!

I understand your view with the 'Mog purists, I have the same problem with the stock M715 guys Right now I have a set of 404's, some jack and frame stands, a bunch of tubing, motor, trans, etc, TRYING to make a logical formation into a rig. The more I work with the 'Mog axles, the more I think they are really cool. I hope to be of help in this forum.

congrats

Congrts on the moderator position. I did expresss interest, but by that time Lance had already gotten yoou for the job.

Oddlly enough I just always assumed you were the moderator of the forum!

I don't know why you suggested me for the position. I don't even own a whole mog .....YET!!!

The very little I have learned about mogs is the same wayyou have, from the lists. Some people like my project, and other's think it"s the devil!!
But as a wise old Unimog guy once told me, "Your project is like giving prostittute a facelift, she may look different, but she's still good at what she does!"

So the purists may come over here, and they may not. But we wiill leaarn whhat we need to as a group, and we will forge on, modifying all the way! There has never been or will there ever be, a perfectt truck! (we can still try though )

Yeahhh ha... sounds good to me. Hmmmmmmmm maybe tie it all together with work?. I can take some athletes to German land for a special training with the German coaches... You know an exchange thing, and just happen to schedule in some side trips to Mog places.

I'll just tell the kids "ahhhhh we came her causeee ahhhhh well.. ahhh see that axle....... see how strong that looks.......... ahhh thats what I want your arms to look like! " "See that spring?" "thats your legs" "see how that Mog can twist with out rolling over" "thats the balance you gotta have" !!!!!!

(I coach gymnast and sport acrobats)

actually it was Mr. MacDermod of moglimo fame (very interesting character in person, not at all what you would expect). He happens to llive near me...along with Chris E. and quite a few other moggers.

edited and fixed!

I am considering getting a trials bike to follow my offroading friends in. As in drive the Mog to the main camp and go wheeling on the trials bike. Hopefully I will end up with the gearing so I can tow something little bigger than a trials bike like a Samuri but I have my doubts.

Trials motorcycles are nice (I ride the human powered versions).....but for just following in the woods, you are hard pressed to beat a ROKON 2wd motorcycle.

Rokon

Yeah it is sorta of a toss up. But, Im not one to just "follow" along. I would like to "play" on logs and stuff with the trials bike.
