Sand (Airplane?) tires- UnimogKen ?
found this pic in a briefcase. Ken can u give us more info?
Wonder if this would be a cheaper way to get sand tires?

They are just plain old used airplane tires on a custom made Unimog wheel. I can take some pics of it this week and get them posted.
The previous owner used this truck to deliver hay to his cattle on his 80,000 acre ranch. The part of the ranch that it was used on was all sand. He said that you can have any retread place use the tire as a casting and they can put any kind of tread pattern you want on it. Anything from totally slick to sand paddle tires. Later. Ken S.

I've heard that totally bald street tires work pretty well in the sand. Saw a stock XJ at the dunes blasting the bowls like this. Don't know if he was making it so well because of the tires or if it was his excessive use of the skinny/stupid pedal.
