Nice harbor freight engine hoist. Used twice, works fine, looks fine, been under a tarp for a while. Paid something like $189.99 plus the killer TN tax. I'll take $150 or the first decent cash offer.
It's this one:
The old Phattie van is for sale. 1992 Aerostar, 200k miles, some rust, needs a little work. Around August I cracked a head and ended up doing a light rebuild on the topend. Some new parts, all new gaskets, low-mileage replacement heads, got it all back together and running great. Problem is the front main seal was damaged while putting it all back together, and it leaks some oil. Drove it for a few months until it started leaking a lot of oil, and then just parked it. It's been parked since mid-December. I started it up the other day and it runs, but it will need a little tune up and the oil leak fixed to really run right. This tires also need balanced, but that's it. Fix the oil leak and balance the tires and I'd drive this thing ANYWHERE. Last summer it made trips to Canada, NY, DC, Nashville, SC, you name it.
Cruise control works great, power windows work great, heat works, AC doesn't work. Holds a 8'x4' sheet of plywood flat in the back. Can haul an amazing amount for a minivan. No stereo included, rocker panel rust (same place as in ALL aerostars, just look at them driving around), all seatbelts work, all the seats are included, got decent gas mileage before I parked it (21-22 when I babied it on the interstate). Has a bunch of stickers on the rear side windows that need scrapped, just been too busy. Tan in color, clean title in hand, and it's been in the family since new. Parents always dealer-maintained it up until 2 years ago. Right before I got it about 2 years ago, they replaced the whole rack and pinion with a new one, and had lots of little things replaced on it as per the dealer (and you know how some dealers are!). I did new brakes about a year ago in the front, not sure how old the rears are. Lemme see...power windows, power steering, tilt wheel, cruise...
Fix up the oil leak and give it a quick tune-up, and you're going to be set for a long time to come. KBB private party price in this condition is $1005. Trade-in value is $610. Edmunds puts it at a little less. I feel those are optimistic numbers, lol. It's got a clear title, ready to go, located in Johnson City, might need to be towed home depending on how well you get it idling, I'd like $500, but I'll take the first reasonable cash offer at my door. Btw, the stereo below is still installed in the van at this time. If someone wants a package deal, I'll work that out. I actually fired the van up recently and took it around the block and it runs better then I remembered, I'd drive it less then an hour away, no problem.
I've got a '91 4runner hood and a radiator. $10 for both, you pick them up. Little beat up but workable.
Finally, a Sony Explode am/fm/cd/mp3 player, only used about 6 months iirc, along with a lightning audio amp, two lightning 12" subs, and a Q-Logic box. I'm told lightning audio is a division of Rockford Fosgate. I don't know if that's true, but this stuff does sound good and will rock the neigborhood if you're into that. I'm not the neighborhood rocking type, so these speakers haven't been abused, just appreciated. Box is in like-new condition, everything works fine. Unsure on the models of amp and stereo at this second, but I can look that up if someone is seriously interested. I know the box, amp, and speakers sell as a package at best buy for around $300, and the head wasn't cheap (pretty sure it was in the $230 range when I got it). The headunit has a sub-out with variable cross over points, sub volume, and all that good stuff for messing with the subs without touching the amps. For the headunit, subs, amp, and some misc. wiring, I'd like $300.
If you are interested in the van and stereo as a package, I pulled out the original stuff and put two 3-way 6x9's in the sides of the van, and replaced the front speakers with 3 1/2" 2-ways for the crisp high-end (everything in the factory openings with factory covers, no hacking up or cutting holes). With the 3-way 6x9's in the sides and subs in the back, the whole system sounded very crisp and covered the wind noise of a 14 year old van perfectly. For the whole stereo still installed, plus the van, I'd take $700, clear title and all, or a really good cash offer.
