Just received my 20s

I just got my 2 piece double beadlock 20s today, everything looks good on them, I am gonna be mounting brand new Michelin XZLs in the next 2 weeks on them, and will post more info after I get some time on the rims. Upon first inspection they look good however. I will post more info once I get it.

I don't see a O-ring do you have to use a tube, silicone or some kind of sealant to seal them, or am I just simply blind?

The beadlock works just like the hummer wheels, it just pinches the beads out the the rim lip.

To seal the wheel you simply put some silicone inbetween the halves, let it set up good and that is it. I dont use an o-ring because, I think having to cut half way through a 1/4" plate would weaken it more than I'd like for a rim that may be holding a 340# tire and up to 110psi, also I would have to charge more for the extra machiming costs. I am trying to make as good a wheel I can for the least amount of money. If someone realy wanted a o-ring seal I could do it but like I said it will make it more expensive.

hey john....i have heard rumors that the Michelin xl 12.5 r 20's will not work with this rim. i have hear that the PVC insert is sized to accomidate the 48's and 53's, and they are too narrow for the 40's. is there any validity to this statement? also do you make the PVC inserts? could you make them a little wider to accomidate the 40's?

The double ones won't, but the single ones will.

Do you sell the 12 bolt hummer beadlocks? I am looking for a source for 15 inch, 2.5 inch backspace, 8 bolt (toyota) lug pattern. You got anything like this John?

First the PVC inserts is something only daniel uses right now, the way the military locks the beads is a big ruber ring.
now for your question, If you were to ask me this a couple months ago, I would have said no, because the sealing lip on the rim is taller than on the tire, But I had a guy that had bought rims from daniel that is runnig 40's bring them to me because of a sealing problem, and have found that they will kinda work. The insert does not hold the beads tight because it is not wide enough for 10" wide rim. To do it right the rim should be made a little skinnier to work. I do have a beter way in mind that I have not yet tried that I think will work great by being the right width and have the corect bead height on it.

Right now I do not make the PVC inserts but I am intending on doing them soon.

So on your second question, I would not make the insert wider, because I just use the military ruber inserts right now, but I would have no problem making the wheel skinnier for it to all work right and use a differant rim shell that has the corect rim lip.

I hope that answers your question, I think I confused myself typing it

Actually I do plan on doing them in those sizes now. It will be a few weeks before I can do the first ones though.

I had an agreement with a certain band member that I would not do anything other than 20's, but he stabbed me on that one,

so this is for him

and one more cause I mean it

Like I said, by doing it differantly, I can make a double beadlock work well for the 20's, I just have not done it yet.

At the time I did your rims I did not think the double beadlocks would work at all, for the 40's, it has only been since your set that I have found ways and means to make it work.

I am sorry for not having them available when you wanted rims.

But I was and still am very proud of how your rims turned out. I realy like them myself, and if you were after another set I would take them back in trade if I can aford it at the time.

I am not quite sure what youare asking but i will try and answer

I can not get the 12 bolt rims at price that I would even consider.
Their are sets available in the for sale section that i would recomend. If you need centers for them I can help there.

You are asking for 15" rims as well? I can do a 15" rim with 2.5" BS any bolt patern you want,

If you are asking for a hummer style double beadlock in a 15" rim, I can do that as well, it just may take a few weeks since this something I am just thinking of getting into right now.

Thanks everyone,
John

Hey John, where in WI are you located? Ever do business w/ Ultimate 4 Wheel Drive Performance in Appleton? If not, the owner is a good guy, and maybe you guys can help each other out.

At any rate, if I'm down your way (whichever way that happens to be), I'd like to stop by. I can usually find an excuse to head south if I want to. I just gotta drop the wife off at the mall on the way!

I am shopping for 5 hummer style 15" rims with 2.5" backspacing in a toyota 6X5.5 bolt pattern. I am pretty new to hummer style beadlocks so I have a few questions:

1. Are all hummer style beadlocks the "double beadlock" style, or are "single beadlock" styles available?

2. I'm assuming you are dealing in the eight bolt rims as you stated that the 12 bolt beadlocks are too expensive.

3. What's your anticipated time frame for having the 15 inchers available?

Thanks alot!

Ok the heart of the hummer style is that it is double beadlock, that is why I would consider it a "hummer style" is if it is double beadlock.
Also hummer rims are only available in 16.5's

I can do a 15" rim in a single or a double beadlock.

So if you want a 15" rim it will actually have probably 24 or so bolts that hold it together. I have just started considering doing this today and have found a tremendous responce throughout the day. I have been telling people about 4-6 weeks before i can have rims ready to ship out

I hope I answered your question good enough,
If I can answer anything else foryou let me know,

thanks,
John
