toy shaft conversion input please-

We have had a few guys -roll there shaft over a rock and the tube survives but the sleeve p/seal part on a factory toyota isreal cheese like .060 wall - so skytone in utah got on my case about that - here's the outcome a .120 wall sleeve should protect that cheesy factory unit nicely don't you think? Jess

Jess, that .25 wall and .125 sleaved driveline runs perfect at 70mph. Heavy SOB at 32lbs. but my square was not street worthey and 45lbs. I will definetly go run this shaft a few times and see. I didn't like having the splines exposed to the rocks. If I can smash the sleave all to hell then what are the rocks going to do to the splines? Harder to recut splines than to undent some pos factory sleave. Hopefully jessy's spline sleave will hold up to the test. Well worth shipping it to california from utah. HE still beats the snot out of the locals. Most say they can do the work at like 3x the cost jessy wants. I'll keep in touch in the next few weeks. Seems great around town LOL

Jesse,

Kind of looks like what I did and kind of got a little flamed from sh*t talkers telling me it was worthless. But then I am not the master driveline builder Mr CV himself, Jesse!!!! I think it is a great idea and is bomb proof!!!

No not at all Jess. I never implied you stealing anyones idea. And if you saw my stuff a while back when I posted it and got an idea then more power to you. I think the stock dust cover was an issue and I fixed it. You providing that fix to your customers is just another top quality product coming from you. Keep up the good work!!!

I practically had to twist his arm to get him to do it. I do agree it is an issue that needs fixing. How has yours held up?

I think I may have went alittle over kill with the size of tubbing I used. I think you could stick a piece of dynamite in mine and it would not hurt it. It is stronger than shit and I have had no problem with drive line balance or seal problems again.

Jess was saying it's hell on bearings. Plus most people say only a .25 on a trailer Queen. I did get her up to 75-80 going downhill on the freeway last night and got some vibrations. Still not any worse that a regular driveline. Still coulda been my 36swamps causing some. But the negitive of the vibrations at 80 are still well worth the positive of how it holds up at 2mph. I'll look for grease leaking out of the seal today.

Thanx jess.............
