send me your radio and i will tweak it for $20 plus what ever
it cost to ship it back to you.

as long as your antenna is properly tuned you will
be able to notice a big difference between a stock radio
and one that has been tweaked.

I have that CB and have used it for years and have been very happy with it as long as my antena is working. What I would want to do is send you my CB and get it back tweaked and peaked, with a new antena, new 12ft CB cable, and a new bomber mount. My rig is a CJ rock rig and will run the antena on top/center of the rollbar.
Question. Can you run a 3ft CB cable or is 12ft about the shortest? When I make the new center console the antena will be righ near the back of the CB so a short CB cable would be nice.

on average how many watts are you getting out of these units? I want a cb for the durango but I dont want to have to dump a bunch of money in a amp just to be heard, I would like to be able to go atleast 15 - 20 miles. thanks

a tweaked radio on average has a peak wattage between 20 - 25 watts, and with a wilson 1000 or 5000 antenna on the roof and properly tuned should get that kind of mileage out of it as long as your not in the city.

i will call next week but what i am looking for is a "big" base unit and antenna to mount on the enclosed trailer so when we are out at the hammers whom ever is back at camp can act as the command center with the rigs out on the trails. i also want a performance unit in my rig setup for maximum potential.

what do you recomend and ball park prices

what antenna do you have now? I would run a Wilson 1000 rooft top kit $63.95
this antenna behind just about any cb radio will work excellent.

How are these radios? I have the the 100 dollar one from Radio Shack and I thought it was disappointing.

How much for a full setup? That will actually work well? I'd need the unit, the proper amount of cabling, antenna, etc.

dont buy a new cb radio, if the cb radio you have is new, not been torn up or dropped
chances are you need a quality tuned antenna set up to make it all work, rather than a
new cb radio.

so check your antenna if its out of tune you dont need a new cb radio.

not trying to hijack the thread but how are firestik antenna's when tuned? my first jeep came with my first cb. i can get some reception on the freeway in so cal but there's a ton of trucks all over so i'd better...wondering if i upgraded the antenna if it would help me get better reception and range.

You guys are in Vegas! I'll be swinging by the next time I make it down from UT! I guess I could even have you take a look at the one in my tow rig. I had some work done to it, but had to have it sent back into Uniden because the coax came out of the connector in the back of the CB (no solder) and fried the computer inside...

any upgrades to make an antenna tune better will help your reception and range. firestik, wilson and k40 antennas are our best sellers and perform very well when tuned properly, we also stock a wilson and k40 super flex style antenna so you no longer need the big spring.
