Chevy Dual Steering Pump Bracket

For use with Gen III / Gen IV Chevy TRUCK engines only.

Put two power steering pumps on your rig to get the additional hydraulic volume required to have the best steering imaginable.

This kit is good if you have one steering axle that you just want to perform better or if you have two steering axles and you want separate systems so that you can steer both at the same time.

You can use two TC pumps, two CB pumps, or one of each. They must be remote reservoir pumps. Comes with everything you need to mount either.

Due to the many configurations possible with this kit it does not include pulleys or a serpentine belt. Kit contains detailed instructions with many full-size color pictures to guide you through installation and tell you which pulleys to use and which belts fit.

Once you experience two pumps you'll wonder how you ever did it with one. Steering without compromise!

Price is $135.00 + $11 flat rate shipping in the continental US. See www.patparts.com to buy. Thank you.

Damn it JJ! Why didn't you have this 6 months ago?

Looks awesome. If my monster sized single pump doesn't work out I'll be giving you a call.

PSC 1700C

It has claims of a ridiculous GPM, but I haven't had a chance to try it out yet.

Only other things that would make this kit uber kickass would be:
  • Beer
  • Pumps
  • Installer
  • Belt

Looking forward to getting it installed and running!

Many ps pumps these days come with cheesy little pulley installers that actually work quite well.

J.J. really interested in this kit. My only concern is I will be running a magnuson mp112 supercharger. Other than finding a belt, do you think it would work?? Thanks for any help

I think with some creative fabbing it would. The crank pulley would
definitely ne ed to be pinned. I think most super charger set ups come with the stuff to do that though. If you can get me a precise triangulated location and diameter of the charger pulley I may be able to help more. Pm me for more details.

How exactly do you combine the two pumps? Do you use a check valve or anything? BTW, I made dual pump mounting plates for my 5.3 with LS1 intake, Corvette balancer, water pump, dual TC style power steering pumps, and the truck alternator a few years ago but never finished the build. The process begins about half way down this page of my build http://ns2.naxja.org/forum/showthrea...945920&page=25. Here's a few pics showing the setup with ONE pump but you can see where the second pump and idler would sit and how the belt would route: I was just surprised at how close your setup is to mine so thought I would post this and perhaps learn a bit about how to combine the pumps. Jeff

You can combine them 2 ways.

1. As a single system. This does require a check valve at each pump's outlet and then teeing the two pumps outputs into one pressure line. This design will suffer from the same symptoms as running one pump does. IE, only one steering cylinder will get full power at a time. They will both run at less than full power while being used at the same time. But your one system will have double the flow with this setup so your steering may be way faster. I would recommend this setup to someone with only one steering axle who just wants better performance.

2. 2 separate systems. This is how most rear steer guys prefer because it allows each ram to have full power while using both at the same time. The best way to set up this type of system is 2 resevoirs, 2 pressure lines, 2 return lines, each pump is its own system and fluid does not mix between them.

Can you reccomend check valves, where to get them and a method to combine the high pressure lines? BTW, is it easy/doable by a do it yourselfer to tap stock pump inputs for fittings? As you see in my pictures, the one pump I have is a Corvette pump and the press in fitting is pointed in a poor direction. If you have other suggestions as to how to get input fittings that will work, I'm all ears. Thanks, Jeff

I can't recommend a specific valve, there's got to be a billion of them available. But If I were doing it that way I would probably use something from here: http://www.surpluscenter.com/sort.as...c&keyword=HACH

A standard tee-fitting is all it would take to combine the two pressure lines.

It is possible to tap the stock inlets to use an AN fittings. I have tried and found that most taps can not get deep enough into the hole to create very many threads. The aftermarket companies do it on mills using special tooling with the pump disassembled and the housing in a jig. I have had success disassembling my bigger pumps and welding a fitting on using pre / post heat with non-magnetic SS wire. Without the long pre/post heat process and SS wire it does not turn out well.
