Question 90 Montero door mechanism

the passenger side rear door doesn't open from the inside, even with the child safety lock off.
Has anyone fixed this before AND does anyone have a good source for salvage yards in the Orange County, California area?

have you pulled apart door to see what is causing the problem?

there are little rods connecting everything in the door so maybe a rod just came loose.

The most common problem has been a broken inside door handle, especially if children are involved. The portion that pulls the actuation rod snaps from repeated pulls. However, relube all the pivot points and spring/slider pieces, and you may be surprised.

I have the door pieces if you need them.

Post It Worked

I had the same problem. I took off the door panel, and the door handle was broke. I went to a salvage yard and found a door handle. I installed it and it still didn't work. So I sprayed it with WD-40 and it works perfect now. My rear driver side door didn't work either and I sprayed it and it works like new. I know I'm late with this reply but hope it helps.
