Mitsu
This is cool seeing a Mitsu forum. My first off roader was a brand new red 1982 Dodge Power Ram 50, it was super reliable and I ran it hard, real hard. Had a lot of people that thought it was a Toyota after I put the 31's on it, believe me I corrected them. The 2.6l head was the weak link that stopped it but only after ditching the trashed body, shortening the frame and a few other mods to put a CJ2 body on it. Yeah a Mitsu powered flat fender IFS, 4cyl, 5sp with 35's. I have the old school hard copy photos of the build, I guess I could always scan them to a DVD for show and tell. Still want to get another D50 to relive my youth.
Anyway I think a few Mitsu's have the Aisin-Warner AW4/A340/AW30-40E/etc. trans. that I make shift controllers for, check out my site.
