4D56 Head Protuding vs. Flush Valves

So I currently have a 4D56 head with protruding valves like the 4D55 heads. But, I was wondering if I could bolt on a 4D56 head with flush valves in an attempt to lower the compression ratio so I can add more boost. Will a 4D56 head with flush valves bolt onto my 4D55 block like The 4D56 protruding valve will or is there a physical difference besides the valves?
