Also, if you want to go with 33's or 35's you may want to consider going with 4.88 gears in the differentials to make up for the loss of power you will experience when you go with the larger tires.

If you need a set of 4.88 gears, I have an extra set for sale for $400. They are a must have if you plan on going with 33-35" tires.

Both front and rear pumpkins for $400 total. They're just collecting dust in my garage. And for all you V6 Monty owners, no I wont just sell the rear for $200. They are a set.

Another solution for the gearing issue would be to V8 the truck like Baldy did.
Second, I have operated my 87 Raider all over the Sacramento to Tahoe area with 33s and only complaining going up / down hills. The 2.6L runs out of steam bunches at 8,000 feet. The 4-cyl brakes common on the Montys are not a problem with your truck. Swapping to 4.88s would be cool, but will only be noticeable after you've driven for some time with the factory gears. I'd make a deal for you on some 4.625 gears that are common in the Monteros, more easily replaced if broken.

Hey Kerby, I sent you a PM, I need to move some stuff to make room for my next project, which I am still looking for but I am thinking of rebuilding a 1994 Toyota extended cab pickup with 4wd and a V6.
