1987 mighty max tire size?

Hey everyone new to the fourm love it here. I'm gonna crank up the bar and flip the rear and do a body lift. Whats the max tire I can go before I start breaking axles? I don't care about cutting up the truck. I'll make anything fit I just never did a mighty max. Am I being rediculas to think those axles can handle 40's? Stupid question I know.

Any help would be greatly appreciated
thanks

88mitsu hhas his montero with the same axles on 38.5s.

But what's the point? Your not really gonna be able to turn lowest gearing options 5.29 for your diffs, 2.85 t case on the lowside plus a 100hp motor...... that is if your gonna wheel em, he just kind of puddles splashes I think

33's will work great with no breakage problems.

35's will work but keep extra front end parts just in case.

anything above 35's will work but the strain is fairly intense on the steering.

i have 33's but i am going up to 35's very soon.

You should be ok with a Max of 33 inch tires. Anything larger and you risk breaking stuff.
