AW4 to a Mighty Max 3.0 engine...
A few months ago I was talking about the possibility of attaching a AW4 from a Jeep Cherokee to a Mighty Max 3.0 engine. Well things are finally progressing and its time to start aquiring the parts for the swap. From what I remember it was a Montaro bell housing, Flywheel, and some kinda of spacer? I was wondering if anyone here could refresh my memory and point me in the right direction on what I need to make the conversion. Or directions to an existing thread. This will end up in a tube framed rig with the mighty max body pannels dzused on. Hope to even keep it streetable. Thanks again. M.T.

I got my aw4 from a 97-99 Montero Sport, so i didn't have to worry about swapping bell housings.
You will need(besides bell housing and t/c) t/c bolts flywheel flywheel bolts pilot bushing(the spacer you mentioned?) edit - you'll need the starter, and flexplate, too I made the shifter from my 01 Sport work with the aw4 but it's not perfect, but swapping out a stick I'm sure you already have the shifter parts from the cherokee. Those manual shifter computers(you can make your own) for the aw4 are great to have too. full manual control plus t/c lock switch, auto/manual switch. You probly knew that already tho.

Yeah that is the way I want to go. I have the Cherokee shifter but would rather go with the Manual contro shifter. So what Im looking for at the pic a part is a 97 / 99 Montaro Sport bell housings. flywheel, flywheel bolts, & pilot bushing. Correct? I sure appreciate the info. Like I said I researched this months ago and then didnt follow through. I lost everything. Thanks again for help.
