2000 Montero Sport Rear Differential HELP
Hello All,
I have a 2000 Mitsubishi Montero Sport LS 3.0L with 4.90 non-locking rear differential. Recently I blew the spider gears and ruined a few bearings ect. I can not seem to find a matching rear differential for this truck. I am thinking about just rebuilding the diff. that I have, but I'd rather buy something used that works. Are these rears interchangeable? Will any spider gears from a 4.90 non-locking diff work? Any help is greatly appreciated. I've about run out of options. |

Hi,
You can fit any diff , even with LSD, as long as you keep the same ratio on the diff. You can not have one diff (for instance: front) pulling more than the other (rear) or the raer pulling more than the front... Gears are rated by size, pitch and number of teeth. |
