RnD Fabrication: Custom Crossflow Radiators & More (USA MADE)

As a newly listed vendor with Pirate4x4, I wanted to take a moment and introduce our company, RnD Fabrication (www.rndfabrication.com). We are an American company, with all of our products being hand-made by Americans, using American materials. While that might not mean much to some folks or companies, it means a lot to us and is something we heavily promote.

At RnD Fabrication, we offer a variety of products for a variety of vehicles. We mainly produce Custom Crossflow radiators and can custom-build radiators for vehicles we don’t currently have in our inventory. We also make fabricated Valve Covers and Overflow Bottles (Catch Cans).

Our Radiators are designed to be a bolt-in, finished unit that is show quality. They are fully welded with no epoxy or plastic, and are 100% aluminum that is Tig welded. Each Crossflow Radiator features:
  • American Made using American Materials
  • Complete Aluminum Construction
  • Fully Tig Welded
  • Pressure Tested before shipment
  • Integrated Built-In Transmission Cooler
  • Built-In Tabs for Electric Fan and Custom Fan Shroud
  • Bolt-in for your application (no cutting or welding required)
  • Welded-on Engraved Top Plate for a Show Quality Finish
  • One Year Warranty against Manufacturer's Defects on All Products

Our radiators are also available for engine conversions for the vehicles listed, and we can place the inlet and outlet locations on either side of the radiator as needed for your engine combo. A few examples of makes / models we currently have available are:
  • 1987-1994 Jeep Wrangler
  • 1970-1981 International Scout II
  • 1965-1971 International Scout 800 & 800a
  • 1969-1975 International Travelall & Pickup Truck (note: 1974-1975 have straight upper inlet)
  • 1967-1969 Chevrolet Camaro & Pontiac Firebird
  • 1968-1977 Chevelle, Cutlass, GTO, Buick Special, etc. (currently being prototyped)
  • 1962-1967 Chevrolet Nova (6-cylinder & V8 models)
  • 1955-1957 Chevrolet (Tri-5 Chevy)
  • 1967-1970 Ford Mustang & Mercury Cougar (currently being prototyped)
  • 1950 Mercury (currently being prototyped)
  • 1990-1997 / 1999-2005 Mazda Miata LS Swap (first & second generation)
  • 1969 International Loadstar Cab-Over (as seen on Gearz TV!)
  • Note: all radiators are available w/ or w/o built-in transmission coolers; all radiators also accept our fan shrouds and our bolt-on electric fan kits.
  • Additional makes and models will be consistently updated. We also need people to test-fit various radiators (you will receive a discount in exchange for helping us). Contact us for a list of vehicles needed.

Our valve covers are designed to be bolt-in upgrades that not only clear your valve-train, but also add a great finishing touch to your mill. Each set of covers starts with a hefty 0.080" piece of aluminum that is laser cut, formed on a brake and then welded. We TIG weld all of our covers, and they can be built with or without a PCV / breather port. All valve covers are available with either a formed rail (standard) or can be upgraded to a 3/8" thick billet rail (at additional cost). Our covers can also be polished for a mirror finish! Another feature that sets us apart from the competition is that each of our valve cover sets includes mounting hardware!

Features Include:
  • American Made using American Materials
  • Complete Aluminum Construction
  • Fully Tig Welded
  • Hefty 0.080" thick aluminum panels
  • Built on a jig to ensure consistent, proper fit
  • Available w/ or w/o PCV / Breather ports
  • Bolt-in for your application (no cutting or welding required)
  • Can be Polished for a True Show Finish
  • One Year Warranty against Manufacturer's Defects on All Products

A few examples of makes / models we currently have available are:
  • Small Block Chevy
  • Big Block Chevy
  • Small Block Ford
  • Big Block Ford
  • Vortec Motors
  • LS Motors (available w/ or w/o coil pack mounts)
  • SB2 Motors
  • 2300cc Ford Motors
  • Pontiac Big Chief
  • Ecotech (Saturn)
  • Big Block Mopar

RnD Fabrication is constantly adding new products to our inventory. Catch Cans, Wiper Fluid Tanks, specialty brackets and more are added frequently. All products are either laser cut, water-jet cut or cut on a CNC machine. We employ Tig Welding for superior welds while minimizing deflection and warping. If you need an item that you don't see on our website, contact us as we can probably make it for you.

Also, we are offering a club-level discount for all Pirate4x4 members. Make sure to mention that you are a member, and give us your member number to qualify for the discount pricing.

We are proud to offer our products to the Pirate4x4 community, and hope to earn your business! Feel free to contact me with any questions. I can be reached through private messages, by email at sparky@rndfabrication.com or by phone at (404) 954-1662. You can also click the phone symbol at the bottom of our homepage at www.rndfabrication.com and it will automatically call us.

Going in a TJ but I need one only about 19" +/- tall to clear the front axle. It can be as wide as will physically fit. I think 26-28" or so.

yep, we build crossflows with inlet / outlet on the same side in that size all the time. It's size and shape is pretty close to our scout radiator, although the inlets / outlets would change:

We hope to start prototyping our TJ radiators shortly.

The one shown is a crossflow, but we can build as a double pass if you want the inlet / outlet on the same side. Since we haven't prototyped the TJ model, I can't give a set-in-stone price yet, but it will probably be in the $400-450 retail range, with the Pirate4x4 member price being discounted below that. We prefer to ship as our insurance and lease agreement at the shop exclude having visitors or customers. But if you are local / somewhat local, I could arrange to meet you if that would help.

We don't currently have patterns for the XJ's, but those are definitely on our to-do list. I hope to have the patterns nailed down within the next 5-6 weeks (we're slammed working on prototypes right now). For the fans, the most we use are doubles, and an electric fan kit with shroud is usually in the $235-250 range depending on fan sizes. The radiators will probably be in the $400-450 retail range, with Pirate4x4 member price being discounted below that.

Thanks for the compliments! The 2300 cover runs $250 retail, Pirate4x4 member price is $210 plus the ride. Shoot me your zip and I can quote shipping. We build these to order at the moment, so it would take about a week or so with our current build-load before it would be ready to ship.

We have bolt-in radiators for your YJ, retail is $400, Pirate4x4 member price is $375, and shipping will be $40 through UPS (we email you with tracking numbers once it ships).

Greenjeepin, your PM box is full. Here is the message I was going to send:

Sorry for the delay in getting back to you. For some reason, I missed the notification that I had a PM. We can build a radiator for you that matches what you have. All we need is the original you want to use as a template shipped to us, and we'll build one with the same dimensions / mounts.

There is a real need for a good Dodge 2nd-3rd gen V10/Cummins radiator. I can find the V8 aluminum versions, but a bolt in of the wider V10/Cummins is hard to find. Performance diesel guys would eat that up and I need one for my V10! Looking to buy in the next few months.

I can get you a Dodge 2nd gen for a template, but I'm sure you could find one just as easily.

that's something we'd be very interested in. While I can pick one up, it's much better to get an actual customer's radiator to build from. That way, we have a vehicle to test-fit it in to be sure of any issues / changes that need to be made.

Would you be able to do center bolt big block Ford valve covers for an EFI 460? They are identical to the earlier ones, except for the bolt location. I can't find a set anywhere and would like to keep my roller rockers. Thanks,

Chris

It shouldn't be a problem for us to build, but we don't have an original available. Would you be able to send us your set (or a spare set) to build from? That way we could look at it, price it and give you a time frame. Assuming there isn't anything crazy (like the wavy indented cover from an International Motor, for example), I don't see why we couldn't build them.

We are also in the process of prototyping 235 cid straight 6 Chevrolet motor valve covers and side plates as well as a few other projects.

I know it's been a while since our last post, but we have been working hard on several new projects. We are about to release our line of 67-72 and 73-79 Ford F100 / F150 / F250 radiators, as well as our larger Scout 800 radiator! In addition to several hot rod and muscle car additions, we've been working on a new aluminum valve cover for the old 235 Straight 6 Chevrolet motors.

We are going to have our wrangler radiators knocked out shortly, and will begin working on our XJ versions. Down the road a little, we are also hoping to start work on a prototype radiator for the diesel folks.

$350 Pirate4x4 price on the radiator, and $50 on shipping for a total of $400. I can have one out later this week, you would have it by middle of next week. We don't currently have a mechanical fan shroud, as everyone either runs this without a shroud, or converts to an electric fan kit (we sell an electric fan & shroud kit for them).

Not yet, but we would like to add those to the line up as well. We have 64/65 GTO's and 62/67 Nova, but I'm not sure if the 66 camino is the same as either of those. Could you email me pictures to sparky@rndfabrication.com?

For the cummins/V10, I'd be interested. Include your contact information in the email and we'll talk.
