If I have the standard pattern, but want to be able to slam the gear into reverse to prevent tipping over backwards when climbing waterfalls, what shifter do I need to get, or... do I need to install a reverse manual valve body in my trans. It's a turbo 350.

There are a couple different routes you can go.
1) You can simply trim all the gates off one side of the shift plate you have. That will allow you to go from 1st gear (all the way at the bottom) into reverse quickly.
2) Install a reverse manual valvebody in the trans and run a rockgate pattern. That will allow you to hit 1st to reverse in the shortest distance.

An AODE linkage kit is on its way to me now. I am going to look at how we can modify it to work with the AOD.
Winters will be working on it, but they have no time frame right now.
Ive already got a trans. to work with, so when it arrives shouldnt take too long to sort out.
I'll be in touch as soon as I get the kit here.
