don't get the polaris if you have the option of getting one of the other bikes..The 500 polaris is pretty slow for a 500..
Both the honda and yamaha are nice bikes..However I did ride my buddies suzuki 450 and its a sweet sweet machine..I'm a honda fan and like the 450suzuki over the 450 honda.. try to ride them all is about all I can say..what I may like you may not like in a bike..

Quadzilla...That's all you need to know.
Suzuki used to make it, 500 cc 2-stroke. This thing rips, it was a part of their Quad Sport line from back in the day and let me assure you it's one of the fastest quads ever built.

Go sit on then, and pick what you like best. All three 450's are top notch quads. All of them have about the same quality. You might want to wait till the Kaw 450 comes out, it sounds like it will be the total package. Lite, powerfull, reverse, fuel injection, good shocks, ect

i used to have a 250 r suzuki. and since i like to trail ride, and ride hard every weekend it was the worst quad ever. no two strokes for me.
the kaw, and artic cat are the same as a suzuki correct? just adding reverse. so i was at the local shops. honda, yamaha, and suzuki. and i asked them honestly witch one is the best, and fastes.. ofcoarse theres are but anyways. 05 honda with kick start( i like) 6,300 otd, but 06s are about 7,300 suzuki was 7,500 otd yamaha was about 7,400 otd... im leaning toward the suzuki.

I think the polaris comment is DEAD wrong. The new 525 Predator WILL be the quad to beat, with the irs (killer travel, and great ground clearance, you just have to kinda relearn how to corner, takes some body english, Ive got one), lost 40 pounds for 07, and an unadulterated 525 KTM motor and transmission (good thing polaris bought KTM, huh!!??)

i just bought 2 lt-r450's and a ltz 400. for a all around quad the ltz is a better bike. the lt-r450 dosnt like to be lugged around going slow they are to high geared for that. but if you want to rip it up and haul ass. the 450 is awsome. it is 4" wider then the other 450's and has better suspention. not to mention the fi is awsome.

Ive ridden 05 honda 450r and own a yfz450. They are both excellant bikes, but the one thing i did notice between the 2 is, you can lug around on the yfz. Top speed is about the same, handling is great on both machines. I do mostly trail and woods riding so my vote is for the yfz. The suzuki looked to low and wide for stricly trail ridding, but would probably out do all others off the show room floor on the race track.
wanna buy a slightly used yfz for a smokin price? |

I'm in the same boat and thinking about a new quad.. I'm leaning towards the Hond just because I've owned Hondas before and have always been happy with them. Back in the early 90's we used to race alot(during the Gary dnton era). Few of my friends hit the national circuit, I was the pit crew. Back then Hondas were best for reliability and strength... Nowadays they all seem to be decently built machines. Although having been away from 4wheelers for quite a few years, I am still partial to the Hondas. To me they felt to be the most comfortable.(just went and sat on them all saturday.)

I have on 03' Suzuki LTZ400 and love it, currentyl its jetted and i have changed the front sproket to one less tooth. I trail ride and sand ride, i dont have any complaints about either except for the ground clearance for the rear swingarm with the metal skid plate is a little low, but nothing bigger tires cant change.

i have logged time on all the major quads stated the honda, yamaha, suzuki, polaris. ill give you a run down of what came out of my time on the bikes for what it's worth.. If you are looking to go out and race and spank everyone stock get the suzuki an experienced rider can make all the others look silly on a track but as stated earlier it won't work all that well on trails it was made for the race scene. Now to the Honda it is my all around favorite it is the one that could keep up to the suzuki the best on the track but just couldn't come up with that little extra to take the suzuki on the track suspension and width probably help the suzuki the best. the honda is probably the second best on the track and second best on the trail. The yamaha is all about the name top speed sucks bottom end isnt that great and the thing flies like a brick so if you are planning any air time stay away from the yamaha, although the suzuki takes some getting used to thanks to the placement of the bars... Now to the Polaris this thing comes in last on the track but first in the trail due to the IRS that makes the ride so much better but also affects turning while trail-blazing. Im not really sure what you are looking to do with quad but if i was buying one i would put my money on the Suzuki for race and the Honda for all around riding... if you are wondering about after you put goodies on em just post up here and ill check back ive got hours logged on all the quads with aftermarket parts... Some may wonder how i can give an opinion like this so ill give you a little background I have been racing since i was 6 and im now going on 21 i have a ton of time on the Suzuki and the Honda due to a local shop that sponsors me to ride each... just let me know if you need anymore info...

I picked up a new 05 TRX450R last week and already love it. I've had a chance to run it on the dirt and the dunes, and the only thing I need to change is the front sprocket, plan on dropping it down to a 13 tooth sprocket from a 14 tooth. Other than that the bike is perfect.

Congrats on the purchase. A friend of mine has the LTR as well...looks mean, but I haven't rode it yet.
I just picked up a '07 Raptor 700R SE myself. I choose it over the 450's, because it has gobs of low end torque and reverse. 90% of my riding is on trails carved through the woods, and this is where the Raptor really shines. I already beat a piped/filter/jetted YFZ and 450R in a drag race, and it's still stock for now.
